My fiancé and I have a story about how we got together that involves oatmeal cookies. (Long story 😆 But I already know my MoH is planning on telling the story in her toast.) We give each other oatmeal cookies as a random romantic gesture, and we celebrate “Oatmeal Cookie Day” as our dating anniversary. So we decided of course we have to give oatmeal cookies as our reception favors. We initially thought of just giving a couple cookies in a pretty bag, but then we got the idea of doing a make your own cookies mix like you see a lot at Christmas. (Basically all the dry ingredients in a jar, you just add the wet ingredients, spoon out, and bake. Instructions would be tied on.) We’re not 100% on this idea yet, but I’m trying to think it through.
One thing I keep getting hung up on is what to put the mix in. A big row of mason jars doesn’t really fit the more classic & elegant style of the wedding. Does anyone have any suggestions for how to package the mix that would be pretty, simple, and portable? Does the mix sound like a terrible idea??
