Faux Greenery? Do or don’t?

Dj Tanner, on June 24, 2020 at 11:47 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 21
For my decor set up I am having chandeliers wrapped with greenery. As far as the greenery goes, the decor company will charge $65 to add faux greenery to each chandelier as seen below. All of my real floral is going through fiftyflowers.com so that’s why I opted to do the faux greenery on the chandeliers that way I don’t have to hire florist. Do you think the faux greenery will be obvious that it’s fake, or do you think people won’t be able to tell because it will be the only greenery that is fake and it will be so high up? What is everyone’s experience with faux greenery? Or should I just suck up the extra cash n hire a florist to do that? Faux Greenery? Do or don’t? 1

I think it will look fine. even if it might seem fake i don't think it's a huge enough detail people would harp over

Not sure I'd want to spend an extra $65 per chandelier for some added greenery. Ultimately it's yours and your FHs decision. If it's something you feel strongly about you should have it. Personally, I'm a less is more kinda person

I hear ya. Yeah I mean we both really love the look, and I agree $65 per chandelier is extremely ridiculous, but you should hear the quotes I’ve been getting from florists! My state is really high for wedding prices unfortunately. Do you think the fake greens will be too noticeable for 65$ a pop?

As a guest, I wouldn’t be looking that close at the greenery on the chandeliers, it’s more the overall picture so I think you’re good to go faux if you want greenery.

I wouldn't spend the money, I don't think it's worth it. Again, just my opinion.

Some faux greenery looks really fake, and some looks realistic, but I imagine the venue uses it frequently and probably doesn’t have the cheapest stuff available. I wouldn’t worry about it too much, only you’re going to care and on the day you’ll have much more important things on your mind celebrating.

Yeah, I should probably just ask to see a sample of it before I give it the OK.

I'm not sure anyone would notice the greenery whether faux or not. I personally thing for $65 a chandelier I would use that $$ on something else. Maybe a photo booth for memories and something you guest will care about or a dessert table, a food truck ending the night. Sorry I think of Food, music, and drinks being the highlight that your guest remember and look forward to.

I just don’t want it to be noticeably fake. If it will be I’ll get real greenery. I’m going to just ask for a sample I think is probably the best bet.

Yeah, I’ve been trying to brainstorm and I think I might even go to Michael’s or somewhere just to see the different types of Faux greenery just so I know what I’m getting myself into. I was hoping more people had info or experience with Faux greenery on here but haven’t had too much luck. Thanks for your input! ♥️

We are doing a mixture of real florals and faux greenery decorations. The use of faux greenery idea was added after floral quotes. I don’t think people will notice that closely.

Our greenery is not as elaborate as yours like the chandeliers. We have a tropical theme with color scheme orchid purple, chartreuse lime, yellow, and orange so it needed a little more greenery. Went on Pinterest for ideas and made some purchases on Amazon for faux tropical leaves. Even though they are fake, but don’t look bad at all. Going to use them as chargers, table decorations, entrance sign decorations, and aisle decorations. Either that or get another quote for real greenery.

Yeah, I think I’m just gonna check out a sample from the decor company. I’m praying they look good so I can save some money. The decor company I have is unfortunately the only company I can go through as they work directly with my venue exclusively but they are soooo expensive! (Feel free to read my prior rants and posts about it 🤦🏻‍♀️) And my state is like ridiculously overpriced when it comes to florists. We shall see. Thanks for the input and CONGRATS!
