Father/Grandfather of the Bride

Ok so some quick background. My Grandfather helped raise me until I was nine and my mom re-married the man who I consider my father. I love them both so much and they both have a special place in my heart.

I want to find a cute way other than both of them walking me down the aisle at the same time.

What are your opinions on having my Grandpa walk me half way and hand me off to my dad? Do you think that would be tacky at all or do any of you have any other ideas that would give my grandpa a VERY special role in the wedding?

You could have your "father" walk you down the aisle and give you away, and have your grandfather do the father/ daughter dance with you at the reception. That way both get the special honor!

We saw this done a few weeks ago at a wedding. The biological father walked her halfway down the aisle, where the step-dad was waiting to walk her the rest of the way. It was very sweet!

There is absolutely nothing tacky about them each walking you half way down the aisle. If it's what feels right to you, go for it! Like the PP said, you can also have one "give you away" and the other do the father/daughter dance. Or, have both do both. Nowhere is is written that you can only have one special dance. You are lucky enough to have two men who love you very much and who were there to take care of you. Give them both the recognition you think is appropriate!

I went to one where the dad and stepdad both walked her down at the same time....
I am stuck in a similiar situation with a dad/stepdad and so to solve i am having my kids walk me down... and someone on here gave me a really nice idea on the "giving away" portion.
