Father/daughter Oldies Music

Alanna, on June 18, 2018 at 2:21 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 8
Hi all!
I can't decide what song to do for the Father/Daughter dance. I love listening to the oldies and I would prefer something from the 1950s or 1960s but not a song that's overplayed. I have thought about some by Johnny Cash. But I'm I'm a rut. Any ideas?

Have you heard of Que Sera Sera by Doris Day? My mom used to sing it to me.

    "My Girl" by The Temptations

"Til There Was You" by The Beatles

"The Way You Look Tonight" by Frank Sinatra

"Save The Last Dance For Me" by The Drifters

If you don't mind something faster, "You Never Can Tell" by Chuck Berry

'You Never Can Tell' is a good one, I'm putting that on the idea list.

I loooove Johnny Cash! It was our second choice for first dance. Don't worry about being "overplayed" - look for something meaningful. All of the songs we chose brought tears to everyone's eyes, because our dearest and nearest know the meaning to us, that is what you are looking for: emotions.

My husband and I danced the rhumba to a little bit of "Best Thing That Ever Happened" by Gladys Knight and The Pips and then danced the "Pulp Fiction" dance to "You Never Can Tell." One of my favorites!

My father and I are dancing to “Daddy’s Little Girll by the Mills Brothers. My mom and her dad danced to the same song. It’s from the 50’s.
