Father/daughter dance // Latina/spanish-speaking brides! (and everyone else too)

I have a possible song for the vals con papa chosen, but after listening to it back to back with the song we danced to at my quince, I'm worried it sounds too sad/meloncholy.

Could you give it a listen and tell me what you think? If you attended a wedding and this is the song that came on, how would you feel watching the father/daughter dance?

And English speaking brides! Same question- fh family won't understand the words, but they'll feel the tome of the music. What do you think?

It's called Vals Para Una Novia

Your link isn't working for me. I did my separate search and the first option was by Alejandro Jaén. Let me know if you're playing a different song.

I think the song is lovely. It's bittersweet which I think resonates for many parents during weddings. "hoy mi corazón llora, mas llora de alegría" emphasizes that it's ultimately a happy and emotional occasion. Then the lyrics insist the father wants you to be happy in your marriage.

"Pero yo sabía que algún día tu volarías" is on the progressive side, at least compared to other songs like "Mi niña bonita" which I find the lyrics uncomfortable. If you listen to Mi niña bonita he starts saying how he preferred a boy but when he had a girl he loved her so much and she's so pretty. The fact that this song acknowledges that he'd always knew you'd fly away (grow up) gives some sense of female independence in conjunction with fatherly love and nostalgia for how fast you've grown up.

I vote yes. Wouldn't think it's a weird song at all or too sad for that matter. I'm in the same boat trying to find a father daughter song in Spanish. I'm Puerto Rican. I'm adding this song to the possibilities.
