Father of the bride suit

It's really all up to you. All the guys in our party are wearing the same exact tux - dads, FH, GM, and BM. I liked the cohesive look because all of my girls are wearing different dresses.

I plan on having my father in something in between. My thought process is that in pictures where my dad is posing with me and FH (parents divorced), I wouldn't want them in the exact same tux. He could also match the groomsmen for a more cohesive look.

I think he should match the groomsmen, but it's your day and your vision.

My fiance is wearing a totally different suit as well. He and my dad agreed for my dad to wear the opposite of one another. My fiance will have a white jacket with black lapels, white shirt, black pants. My dad will wear a black suit/tux with a white shirt.

Our parents/grandparents asked us about this and we decided that FH will have a different tux than his groomsmen, and both dads and FH's grandfather will wear the same suit that the groomsmen are wearing. My brother is also officiating and will wear that suit too (he would've been asked to be a GM if he wasn't officiating) and we will probably just give him a different color bout. than the GM.

I understand what you are feeling and thought the same thing. Our groomsmen will be in light gray and my fiance will be in navy. My dad said he has a black suit so not much I can do even though it does not really go in my head! However, I have to take what I can get since he asked me why he can not wear shorts when the attire is garden party attire!!
