Father of the Bride/ Father of the Groom gifts

OurAdventureBegins, on July 28, 2016 at 4:18 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 13

What are you all getting your dads or your FFILs for a wedding gift? FH and I are both kind of drawing blanks and need some inspiration. My dad is paying for about half the wedding so I want to do something really special.

Ideas?

My dad told me once about a pocket watch that his grandfather had and that he loved. I was thinking of stopping by an antique store to see if I could find something nice.

We did monogrammed men's toiletry bags with their dress socks, a monogrammed handkerchief, and airplane bottles! Still deciding if anything else should go inside.

I got my dad a monogrammed handkerchief with the date because I know he's going to cry. My FFIL will probably not cry and I didn't think he'd want a hankie so we got him a baseball cap that says "Father of the Groom" and the date. It's more laid-back, but we think he will like it.

We got both a leather wrapped flask with their names on them. I know, I know. Not another flask gift haha. I think they'll both really like them though!

My dad loves playing golf, so I'm thinking to get him a golf ball dipped in gold that I saw on a website with anniversary gift ideas recently - http://silverweddinganniversarygifts.com/.

What are the fathers into ?? For example my dads are complete opposites and my ffil is a baseball freak my real dad is more emotional and my stepdad is a tough guy. My real dad would probably love anything showing him I'm always his little girl where as my step dad would love anything to do with fishing or football ffil anything baseball just gotta know the men in your life and do something that you know theyll love and or something you guys share. If you could tell me things about them I may be able to think of some pretty cool ideas. Best of luck

Our dads were both pretty much at the, Everything I Want I Already Have stage, but they both love coffee. We customized mugs from etsy for the FOB and FOG. They turned out great, they will use them all the time, and very personal.

A round of golf at the private country club where we're getting married (with FH and our brothers as well)
