Cute or tackey?

I would love for my Dad to be the MC at my wedding but I dont know if its a good idea? We dont have anyone who would be great at it on either side and I know my Dad would do a great job. Does anyone think this is a bad idea?

Well traditionally the brides parents are the ones that host the wedding, so I don't think it'd be a problem. I am guess MC is master of Ceremonies??? I just goggled that. I am still learning the appreviations around here.

If he really wants to and you know he'd do a good job, I wouldn't say no. But being the father of the bride, he will be busy with some other duties and many wellwishers. It might be a lot on his plate for one day.

Personally, I wouldn't do it. I wouldn't want to put my dad to work on my wedding day. As a host, he's already going to be busy with the guests, father-bride dance, etc. If possible, I would even want my dad to be able to relax and have a good time...I think that would be difficult if he was the MC.

How would you feel about having your DJ be your MC? I think that's the way that it's been done at every wedding that we've gone to over the course of the past couple of years (it's also what we're doing).
