Father of Bride

We have them in the same suit but a variation.

Groom is wearing suit with bowtie, groomsmen are wearing suit with different bowtie, father and father in law are wearing suits with ties.

I think it will look nice but still mark them as separate

My dad will probably be in either a black or grey suit. FH and maybe the groomsman will be in navy (haven't decided if we're going to have them in full suits yet)

We are having same suit, but different colored tie. Groomsmen, my dad and FFIL will have black vests. Groom is wearing a white vest with a tie

My husband and his groomsmen wore a black tux. My dad also wore a black tux that he already owned because our wedding was more on the formal side. It doesn’t really matter what he wears as long as it matches the formality of your wedding.

I told my stepdad to wear whatever he was comfortable in. He decided to wear them same outfit as my FW and her bridesmen, but with a regular tie instead of a bow tie so he doesn't look like part of the BP.

We just told our dads to wear whatever they were comfortable in. All dads (my husband's dad, my dad & my stepdad) all ended up in blue/navy suits randomly. We did gift each person ties though so they all blended with blue. Here is a picture (from left to right - my father in law, my husband, my father).

My dad worn a gray tux, but the bridal party worn black tuxes. I wanted him to be in black as well, but my husband didn't want him to look like a groomsman so we picked gray for my dad. My dad told me just to pick it because it didn't matter to him what he worn. My husband didn't check with his dad about what he was wearing and he showed up in a black suit. I was angry because my husband insisted my dad couldn't wear black, but he didn't bother to tell his dad the same thing.

I would let him wear what he likes. We don't have the bride, bridesmaids and mothers all wearing the same outfit. Why have the groom, groomsmen, and fathers all in the same one?

This is something my mom cares about more than my father or I haha. Since the suits in our bridal party will be navy, and my mom’s dress is navy (she and my father will escort me down the aisle), my mom wants my dad in a different color. So she’s thinking dark gray. This has been a whole thing... lol 😂

My dad picked out his own outfit. Coincidentally, it closely matched the groomsmen (they were in gray pants and vests with a dusty blue tie, and my dad’s choice was similarly gray pants, and a light blue tie. The relation of their outfits didn’t really matter much, I don’t think they’re really in any pictures together).

APPARENTLY my mom went shopping with him and he picked out a pair of linen pants and they only had a cream color in his size in stock to try on so he gave them a shot and ended up LOVING them and wanted to get them, and my mom shot him down 🤣. She laid a hard veto and said that he’d look bad next to me in them hahah. I wouldn’t have cared, but she was probably right lol. (Don’t worry, he got to get them and wear them for my brother’s wedding where he didn’t have to walk the bride down the aisle!)
