Father daughter dance

So I have this song that I have loved for years since I first heard it. I always knew it was going to be the father daughter dance song at my wedding. My dad is not going to come to my wedding (medical reasons). So now my step dad is going to walk me down the isle and do the father daughter dance. I still love this song and I want to dance to it at my wedding. I choose it for my dad and I to dance to. Would it be acceptable for my step dad and I to dance to the song instead or should I find a different song for my step dad and I to dance to?

    I do not see why not. If you have a great relationship with your step dad as well there’s no reason why the same song could not be used. Especially if he treats you like his own daughter. Is there a reason specific to your dad and you that you chose the song?

    If the song was chosen to explain your relationship with your dad I would probably chose something else. Are you able to maybe FaceTime with your dad and dance to the song with your mom while he watches? Is your mom someone special in your life and would she like that? Just a thought. I’ve seen things like that done and the DJ could just announce that this dance is for your father but since he can’t be with you, your mom is standing in.

    I don’t think that would go over well with my step dad since he is walking me down the isle. I mean my step dad has been in my life since I was 7/8 years old.

    I personally would keep that song just for you and your dad since it's so special. You could get dressed in your gown and go visit your dad and dance with him to that song. That would be so special for the both of you.
