So my father and I have a different relationship- he's not my bio father and he and my mom are now divorced but he's the only father I've ever known. He has no actual 'obligation' to walk me down the aisle or even be at the wedding but I'm so happy that we have managed to maintain our relationship even though his and my mom's has turned very bitter and acrimonious. We have a 'hard' relationship but we make it work.
I'm not trying to dance to any song that involves butterflies, him loving me first, or any other sappy cornball song there might be. I'm not a "daddy's girl" either. We joke about music like Marilyn Manson's "Beautiful People" or Missy Elliot's "Work It" or other rock/rap music. I'd like to approach him with some song choices that aren't bags of suck and that we can have fun with (no choreographed dance numbers) without feeling awkward. He will be the ONLY person from his family there too, so I'd like him to not feel really...weird.
Any suggestions?
