Father daughter dance song

Nic, on August 8, 2018 at 11:27 PM Posted in Planning 0 10
What is everyone thoughts on “just to see you smile” by Tim McGraw for my and my dads dance?
I know it could be a love song but could it be for me and do I care what people think in the end? Growing up and still do my dad sister and I always use to listen to Tim McGraw I know Tim has another song that would be a perfect for a father daughter dance but my sister already called it for her wedding when she gets engaged lol 🙄 me being the oldest I’ll let her have it but just wanted your thoughts and if you had any other songs in mind please share 💜

I think if you two like it then that's all that matters. There earnt too many songs that are clearly just about father daughter relationships. Me and my dad are going to dance to "the way you look tonight" so same boat. I specifically chose a version that was more upbeat than lovey dovey

I just looked through the lyrics again and it does fit for a father daughter dance. I am assuming that you mean My Little Girl for the one that she called dibs on LOL. I'm in a toss up between that one and Tough Little Boys by Gary Allen. Both make me cry like a baby and remind me of my relationship with my dad.

Yes I know it’s so hard and I don’t want to do the song that everyone always does lol. Your song is great and you’re right if it reminds me of my dad who cares. Good luck with all the planning!

I let my dad pick because I used to be a dancer (ballerina) so I'm super comfortable dancing in front of people but he was the cameraman so was never in the spotlight. He picked My Girl by the Temptations. I think that as long as it works for you and means something to you 2 then that is all that matters.

I wanted to choose a country song because my dad and I always listened to country when I was a kid and I still love it. The catch was, though, that I didn’t want to use one that was very sappy and “daddy’s little girl” themed because we don’t really have that relationship. I decided on “When You Come Back Down” by Nickle Creek. It’s a little bittersweet but really sincere, and I think the message is very fitting for a parent/child relationship.
