The song is about his father who he never knew, so if I heard it I might think you guys had a rocky relationship or that you just got reconciled. However, most people won't be paying that close attention.

My grandfather (who raised me) and I are dancing to Delta Dawn. I have no idea what the song means. But growing up every Sunday morning I'd come in in my church dress and stand on his toes and he'd sing Hailee Dawn to me.

My dad and I will be dancing to "The River" by Garth Brooks. We had a rocky relationship for a long time but in the last few years have become pretty close. To me the song is about following your heart and staying true to yourself, and I know that's what he has always wanted for me.

We danced to "Until the Summer Comes" by The Steel Wheels. My dad was a SAH dad while my mom worked, and as a child I was an extremely picky eater ... so the opening lyrics "Hey, hey, can I go out and play ma? See, I ate all my dinner....." had particular meaning for us. No one else attending got it, but it made him laugh so it was the perfect song for us.
