Father daughter dance question

Alex, on October 9, 2017 at 3:33 PM Posted in Planning 0 3

I know there are so many other things to worry about this early on like photography and food. But my father and I have a rather different relationship. He wasn't really there for most of my life other than popping in here and there as a father. It wasn't until I went to college that he really showed up as a father. Since the start of college he's stepped up Jo's gave providing me money without me asking for it and calling and coming to visit at least once a year (he lives in New York).

My question is what song do I choose or begin looking at? I want to still do the father daughter dance but I want a song that really fits our relationship. Any song suggestions?

Whew girl your wedding is in 3 years. A LOT can change/happen until then. I guess right now I would suggest "youtube-ing" father daughter dances and listen to the songs and you might find something you like.

Keep it lighthearted. You probably don't want songs that make reference to him being there your whole life. Rod Stewart "Have I Told You Lately", Hootie and The Blowfish "Hold My Hand", Billy Joel's "Just The Way You Are" might be a good fit.

ETA: Just saw you're not getting married for 3 years. Don't worry about this right now.

Plenty of time to think about it. For a relationship that has not had a stable past, I would not stress over it at this moment. Just listen to a few songs, see what sticks.
