I need help, please. I have no clue what song to use for the Father Daughter dance. They all talk about being daddy's little girl, him being there, etc...that is not the case for me, unfortunately. I'm pretty much an after thought to him. While he doesn't deserve to walk me down the aisle or a father daughter dance, he is still my father, my dad. I am old fashioned in that sense. With that being said, I need ideas. Just under 2 weeks until the big day and I'm lost on what to choose.

I was thinking Daughters by John Mayer. However, while I think it'd make a statement and hit where it hurts, it's not what needs to happen on what is to be one of the happiest days of my life.

That's a great idea! My dad would choose a song that talks about how he's been there for me my whole life, being daddy's little girl, etc... and none of it's true. It's hard knowing you're an afterthought.

I can only imagine.. sorry this decision has to be so hard! There was a time when I had a falling out with my dad and didn't talk to him for 3 years. But we had our 1st daughter (his 1st grandchild) and it changed him.. now 13 years later I talk to him at least once a week. Wish you the best, and hope everything works out for you!

Rachel, yes I'm sure I want to do this dance. I'm old fashioned in this sense. I think I would regret it at some point down the road if I didn't have a father/daughter dance.

I won't have my mom cut in because then my step mom will feel the need to cut in as well.

My half brothers, well, I haven't even heard from them if they are coming to the wedding or not.

Same situation with my dad. Walk with You by Edwin McCain is definitely a good choice

Thank you, Emilie. Once my dad had boys with my stepmom, I became an inconvenience and an after thought. My sil's are treated better by him than I am. Unfortunately, I hate to say it, but I am used to it. It doesn't mean that it doesn't hurt. Mys son is treated differently than his other 2 grandchildren as well. It's just poopy.
