Father/ daughter Dance. classic rock

Sarah , on October 28, 2018 at 2:23 PM Posted in Planning 2 10
Hello everyone! I hope your planning is going well!

I'm looking for a classic rock song for my father/ daughter dance. I was raised listening to Queen, Styx, Rush, Billy Joel, The Eagles, etc with my dad and would like to stick with those if at all possible. I'm also looking for a good slow song. (I can't dance to save my life, lol)

Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated! Thanks!Smiley shame

Not one of those but not your standard country, we are doing “In my life” by the Beatles. My dad is a classic rock guy too and I was trying to find same as you, but when I heard this one I just knew it was perfect.

There's a netflix movie with Chris Rock and Adam Sandler about a wedding and they used a Billy Joel song for the father daughter dance. It was beautiful, but I can't remember what song it was. Let me see if I can find it....

Lullaby by Billy Joel! I am doing All of My Love by Led Zeppelin but that was a close second, along with Eric Clapton’s Wonderful Tonight! Glad to see another classic rock loving bride! 🎸

I had suggested “forever young” by Bob Dylan for my fiancé and his mom but they went with something else. I loved the idea of it tho!

We have the same family taste in music - I was raised heavily on classic rock (Especially Clapton & The Who.) I was named after a song, so my father daughter dance was picked out from birth lol. But we tried to throw in a few "could have been the song if it weren't already chosen" ones into our night -

The Rolling Stones: “She’s a Rainbow," The Beatles: “Here Comes the Sun," Wilco: “My Darling,“ Fleetwood Mac: “Landslide," Eric Clapton, "Wonderful Tonight," Van Morrison "Tupelo Honey," The Eagles "Love Will Keep Us Alive."

I was also looking for a perfect classic rock song for my father-daughter dance. I decided on Landslide by Fleetwood Mac and my dad loved it 😊 We are not country people AT ALL, and I didn’t want a super sappy daddy’s girl song, so it was perfect. I tried to find a good Aerosmith song, and originally wanted I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing, but that song seems a little too sexual for a father daughter dance lol. I totally love the PPs suggestions too!!
