Father daughter dance-beach Boys songs

At our wedding in October my husband and I danced to "I'll be loving you forever" by New Kids on the Block and halfway through I danced with my dad and he danced with his mom. For the reception that my in-laws are having for us in April (for their family members that couldn't travel across the country) we're doing separate dances. My dad introduced me to the Beach Boys and we've always enjoyed their music together. The two songs that stick out most to me are "Forever" and "Surfer girl." I've seen suggestions for "God only knows" but that honestly seems kind of depressing to me. Has anyone used the above songs for their father/daughter dance, or an alternate Beach Boys song? Thanks!

I think Forever would be a good father/daughter song. Honestly, as long as you and your dad are happy with the song you choose, then I don't think the rest should matter. I've gone to a wedding where the bride and her father danced to Kelly Clarkson's Stronger, which doesn't really have any sort of loving or familial messages, but it was a song that they used to sing in the car together, so it had meaning to them. If you want to do Forever or Surfer Girl, then go for it!
