Father daughter dance alternatives?

Hi all

Kinda been going over this a lot in my head... my father passed away when I was very little yet I would still like to honor his memory during the “father daughter dance” portion of my reception.
I originally planned to dance with my mother while a Slideshow of him plays in the background... however I kinda think dancing with my mother will be a bit awkward and she will be emotional. So to take up some of that time I was considering doing a candle lighting in his memory... is this too depressing????

I think a candle lighting would be beautiful! It's not depressing to honor someone so significant who has passed.

I really love the dancing with your mom while the slide show plays!! I don’t think dancing with your mom is awkward at all. I think it’s less awkward that a candle lighting.

I think dancing with your mom is a really special idea! i also like the idea of the candle lighting as well! do whatever you feel most comfortable with! i love both ideas

The candle lighting sounds like a very sweet idea. My father passed away 2 years ago. He loved Michael Jackson, so I plan on having everyone get up and dance to a Michael Jackson song in his honor while a slideshow of photos plays on the video screens.
