We are doing " I loved her first by heartland" you tube it, it will bring tears to your eyes, I hate country music, but my dad is really worried about dancing at my wedding, so i wanted a slower song that fit us.... and when i showed him the song he got all excited and started crying.

"I Loved Her First" was also my first thought.

You could also do "My Wish" by Rascall Flatts or "My Little Girl" by Tim McGraw

My FAVORITE is "stealing cinderella" by Chuck Wicks. I don't have a close relationship with my dad, so didn't have the dance, but still tear up at this song!

I was thinking about all those. kind of uncomfortable with how "stealing cinderella" is all about the FH asking her dad's permission, we didn't do that.. but I really like the song.

Stealing Cinerella can still work even if your FH didn't asked. When I listen to that song, I see it more as the father telling him his memories and the FH realizing he's stealing her away.

I am doing "I Loved her First" the only issue with this song as it has been pointed out to me is, it may make both you and your dad cry so you may want to dance with him again later to have a little fun.
