Father as a groomsman?

I tried to post earlier but you hid the post :/ But what I had said was that I can't see any reason not to. If that's the type of relationship you have with your father, then sure. My only concern would be that he might be stretched too thin with responsibilities, depending on his involvement in the wedding.

I think that's wonderful. My brother asked my dad to be one of his groomsmen and he was honored (he is my brothers stepdad).

My brother had his son, our dad, and our step-dad as his groomsmen. The dads loved it and everyone commented on how great it was. If you want him up there with you then do it!

My FH was going to have his dad as his best man. But we decided to not have anyone stand with us. Although I still asked my sister to be my maid of honor. You can do whatever you want.

Not sure where you are from-but this is very very common in the (deep) south. My dad was the best man in both my brothers weddings and FFIL is FHs best man in ours.

Neither one of our biological fathers are in the picture - but FH is having his stepdad, the man that raised him, as his Best Man. He's a man of few words but he definitely got choked up when FH asked him.

My fh and I are having a small courthouse wedding with just our parents. We have friends, but if we invite this person, we have to invite that person, and so on.... so since we don't want a huge wedding, and we don't want hurt feelings, for our witnesses, we have asked our mothers to do the task. I think it's great that you want your dad to be there for you on the biggest day of your life!!

If you want to - go for it!! My husband's best man was his father!

My Mom is matron of honor so I say if you feel your relationship is that strong then go for it!

If you want him as a groomsman, go for it! I see nothing wrong and think its sweet!

My husband had his father as his best man. He was the only one in the wedding party.
