Hello! I'm new here so I'm not sure how this works, but I need your help. I am a "plus size bride" and I found a dress that I think looks pretty good on me. I'm doing this wedding on a super small budget and a dress is like last on my priority list. (GASP!) I know. I got this dress on the cheap...

Hello! I'm new here so I'm not sure how this works, but I need your help. I am a "plus size bride" and I found a dress that I think looks pretty good on me. I'm doing this wedding on a super small budget and a dress is like last on my priority list. (GASP!) I know. I got this dress on the cheap cheap but I'm not like OMG, IN LOVE with the dress, but i think it looks nice on me. Any suggestions in the alterations area to kinda spice it up a bit? The belly pooch is kinda getting to me, so any advice on getting that smoothed out (besides getting off the couch and stop eating) would be great. Also, I have a big problem with bearing arms in the anatomical fashion. I'm fat. They're fat. I hate them. So is there a way to cover them that wouldn't look dumb or weird with the dress? FYI... It's a spring wedding. And, yes, I tried on my wedding dress in a bathroom. Don't judge. Thanks in advance.

Something that I saw recently for the arms was to take just a small amount of chiffon/lace/another similar material and sort of create a wrap and then pin it to the top of the dress near your arm pits. It ends up covering the tops of your arms and back. I considered doing this to my dress for the ceremony but decided I preferred it plain.

I think you look lovely! The beading at the top is really flattering (and the top fits you so well!) and I like the hang of the skirt. I think some spanx and a pretty beaded shawl will take care of all your concerns, but please know that it's a beautiful dress and your bod looks great in it!

    What I wore was:

    * Long line bra. It provides support up from the hips, which helps a lot since you don't have straps to give you support from the shoulder.

    * Spanx. Smooths the abdomen and butt.

    * David's Bridal Style 603 Crinoline. It sucked me in at the waist. It then flared below the waist so it looked like the poofing out below the waist was a style choice, as opposed to my being fat down there.

If you're self-conscious about your arms, you might look at boleros. Or just have the dress altered to add sleeves.

Tori the dress is fab on you. Some spanx to smooth things out would work. That's my plan and I also have the same issues. I'm attaching a pic a me in my dress. Same issues as you. I really don't care about my arms being flabby because I feel beautiful in this dress. I probably will remove the straps though as I feel like a linebacker with them on.

My dress doesn't really allow for undergarments so my consultant suggested finding the right Spanx and then they will sew it into the dress so I don't have to mess with it. Also a thought so it's not riding up. For the arms you could even try a light layer of gathered tulle to kind of create a cap sleeve. Easy, inexpensive and since there's tulle on the bottom of the dress, it'll match.

Has anyone ever looked at the bride and thought.. wow, her arms are fat? No. They'll be looking at how radiant you are. You're your own worst critic. Rock it, girl! That dress looks great on you!

I don't think it's necessarily what everyone else think that is the issue here. Its about what she feels and I think if having sleeves will make you more confident, then go for it! Do you need them, no!

Your dress is really beautiful! My arms have rolls and I wore a strapless dress too. Honestly, most things with sleeves end up calling attention to them and making them look even larger so I just said F it and rocked it. I did wear my veil for most of our formal pics so I felt a little more confident that it covered them but I just tried to focus on keeping my arms away from my body in pics, usually with my had on my hip. My photographer thought I was being "sassy" lol

You look gorgeous in your dress. But if you really want to hide the pouch, i'd suggest going to your local lingerie store and ask them for a waist cincher (Spanx doesn't stay in place on me); with the right one you can look like you dropped 4 inches
