Fast military wedding

I would absolutely appreciate any tips on saving money. My fiancé and I don’t have a date picked out quite yet. But we are shooting for mid May early June since he got orders to be stationed at Fort Sill in Oklahoma by early August. Him and I haven’t really discussed a budget as he hasn’t yet talked to his parents about our marriage, keep in mind we’ve only just decided with in the last three days. I’ve come up with a small budget already but would really like a few tips on cutting some corners!

Keep your guest list tiny. Immediate family(parents and siblings and their SOs; grandparents if you have them) only and take them out to lunch/dinner after your ceremony. That will be the easy way to keep costs down.

Get married on base at the officers club to save cash and keep it small. Maybe brunch?

We would prefer to keep it off base. But I will definitely keep that on the list as plan B ☺️

If the area you live in has Doordash, you could work for them during your free time. I would maybe work 10 hours a weeks and would bring in an extra 200-400 a week depending on the weather and events during that week.

Budget bride here ($6k) loads of ways to keep the costs down if you DIY flowers and have a low guest count.

    Some suggestions:

-fake flowers (all 8 bridesmaids have boquets for only $10 each from Michaels)

-Olive Garden catering does a build your own pasta bar- $12.50 per person ($125 per 10 people) or a local caterer.

    - photography, depends if you’re willing to skimp on this- I wasn’t and am paying close to $1,000. Local family photographers only charge a few hundred for a few hours.

-cocomedly for a dress or David’s bridal.

-state parks are often under $100 to rent a space

how much are you thinking? If it’s under my budget I can help more.

My nephew and his wife did this last year, before he was deployed. Planned the whole thing in 2 months. What they did to keep it simple and inexpensive:

    1. They had only one attendant each.

    2. She bought a dress off the rack.

    3. They had the whole wedding in their church; reception in the fellowship hall. (Dry wedding, so that might not work for you.)

    4. Her aunts and uncles made and served the food. (I know it's frowned on on Wedding Wire, but that's how they pulled it off. Church had a good full kitchen to use.)

    5. They had no DJ or dancing (again, that might not work for you).

    6. Decorations were very simple.

My budget right now is working with $2,000 and that’s it for now it may rise. I didn’t consider fake flowers!! That’s always a great option!

For $2000 and quick, your best bet to is to elope or go to the courthouse, and take your parents out to lunch. You can find a pretty dress at a department store, and get a nice bouquet from a grocery store. Many photographers offer lower prices for shorter elopement packages

We aren’t going to elope because our families would be ridiculously upset at the both of us. I have everything necessary budgeted out so we can have an actual ceremony and reception for our close family and a few friends. My guest list is 16 people. His list will probably be about the same maybe more. So about 35-40 people max.
