Family (us citizens) coming from uk?

Helena, on August 29, 2021 at 4:53 PM Posted in Planning 0 4
Hi there,

Trying to find information on timing for PCR tests before travel from the UK to the US. Websites are hard to figure out. Both parents are US citizens living in England trying to travel in October. Has anyone else gone through this recently or has recommendations on where to find help?
Thanks!

As far as I know, the current guidance is tests must be taken and the negative result received within 72 hours of their flight.

Thanks for the info! My understanding is that the test AND results have to be received within 3 days which is a tight turnaround. If anyone has seen something differently that would be great. Just trying to get some accuracy here for my poor mother trying to come over.

Generally the clock starts at the time the results are given. Turn around is very quick, (at least in France), took less than 6hrs and the results went directly to email. I recommend getting it done a little over 48hrs before the flight so that there isn't any question about the timing. Your Parents should specify that the test is needed for international travel.

Thank you!! It's such a short turnaround time and hard to figure out. This is one of those times I wish I was there to help!
