I’m having anxiety every day due to the fact that I have family but no one supports me and my decision to be involved in the LBGTQ community. My dad disowned me, I still have my mom but she’s miles away, the bond between my sister and my brother has faded, the one true person that I had “granny” passed away, I feel like I’m alone in trying to plan a wedding! How can you plan a wedding with no family nor friends? I wonder if I can rent some people lol jk! This is just a tough time for me when it should be a beautiful moment! Encouragement is definitely needed!

I'm sorry to hear this, I don't know why the world still acts it's 1950. People should accept people for who they are. I'm glad you found someone who can love you and accept you for you. My family has a different dysfunctional issue that holds me to a higher standard than my brother and the other half is prejudice and wont accept my mom. Because of that they wont be involved in my baby shower or planning my wedding with me, but I don't care because I know my best friend, my love has my back and will be there for me. Don't worry the people who are important will be there for you and the ones who aren't will have to get over themselves. All of us on here on WW are here for you, and if your close enough I'd show up to your wedding.

Usually only the couple plans their own wedding (unless they hire a planner). I didn’t ask for anyone’s help but it seems like a lot of people on these forums are saddened by the lack of interest by friends & family. But you & your beloved can enjoy planning together. 💕

Welcome! Glad you're here. I don't know why or how people feel so bigoted, but it happens. That's no reflection on your or your FI. You can have the wedding you want, of course. One thing we do say is that you shouldn't expect anyone to be as excited about your wedding than you and your FI.

You know: The most important is to be surrounded by the ones that love you and support your LGBT relationship. If that means inviting, say, 10 people, so be it! It's still better than inviting 150 and you know most of them would RSVP "no" or would attend reluctantly.
"The bond between my sister and my brother has faded": this has NOTHING TO DO WITH YOU!!! They may not love each other anymore but it doesn't mean they don't love you or support you!!!!
