False Eyelashes--which brand/style?

Mrs J, on June 12, 2017 at 7:01 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 16

So, I don't wear makeup on a daily basis (other than occasional concealer for pimples). That said, I'm most definitely paying for a MUA for our wedding day as I'm clueless with makeup. However, I'm also nervous about a MUA as I don't want to look overly made-up.... Anyways, I've decided to trial a MUA for our engagement shoot to see how it photographs and how I feel. I am also toying around with the idea of false eyelashes because I think they look better in wedding day photos. That said, what do y'all know about false eyelashes? Which brand is good, but also affordable? Which style? Should I get individual lashes or a strip of lashes? I'd like them to look more on the natural side, just wanting to add volume and length because I'm not blessed with lush lashes. Any advice would be very appreciated! Thanks!

Do your engagement pics with the lashes. Some people have reactions to the glue which you would want to figure out before the wedding. I would let the MUA pic for you. There are some many brands of strip lashes it kinda depends on how your lashes look with out them.

Ardell lashes are super affordable and they range from subtle to dramatic. They are the "drugstore" go to lashes in our make up world. I also LOVE Koko Lashes which I get from LadyMoss.com. They are super affordable but most of them are dramatic. They have a few natural/subtle ones. I only wear strip lashes, but I think individual lashes are much more "natural" looking. Hope this helps!

Lashes look amazing on everyone no matter how much or how little make up you are wearing. I love strip lashes and wear them for every special occasion! House of lashes makes a really good lash for small eye shapes

Check with your MUA before you buy. My MUA provided the false lashes as part of the package.

Hi! So I am in the same boat as you- I don't wear a lot of makeup either but when I went to my Makeup Trial, my MUA used the Ardell singles in medium and they are AMAZING! I also went to a different makeup trial before that and she used the strip lashes and I was NOT a fan- they can sometimes look a little "much" if you're not used to wearing false lashes.

Individuals give you the option to have as many or as little as you want!

    Hope this helps Smiley smile

Also, individual lashes take a while to put in. It takes about 2 hours to get a full set on me. So if you go that route get them done a day or so before the wedding

I really liked these lashes. The brand is Huda and the style is Lana. I'm going to get lash extensions on in July to try them out. So I may go with Huda or I may go with extensions for the wedding. For engagement pictures my MUA used Ardell Demi wispies. The demi wispies were okay but I wear those on a daily basis so I'm going for something more dramatic.

Ardell ,Kiss, and eyelure make affordable lashes that are pretty good. Personally, I love lashes and don't go to any event without them. I usually wear strip lashes but my MUA did individuals for my wedding day and I was OBSESSED. It didn't take long for her to apply at all. Try a few different looks before the big day so you know what you like. Below is a picture of what they looked like.

I agree with the other PP's that recommend Ardell. No point in investing in expensive lashes if you don't even know if you'll like the look feel first. I recommend starting off with the Adrell "wispies" for your trial and engagement photos and see how you feel. If you're sold, then I highly recommend the brands Red Cherry, Velour, or Huda Beauty.

Your MUA should be able to provide lashes for your trial. Just tell her you want a natural look. She will probably have several different styles of a brand she likes for you to pick from. Highly recommend fake lashes because they really make your eyes pop!

I do extensions. I never had much luck with the line lashes.
