Fake flowers

Heather, on July 9, 2020 at 11:21 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 18

I'm really just looking for opinions. I am wanting to do mostly fake flowers for bouquets, the alter, and isle decor. My question is does anyone think its super tacky?

My aunt/Mother figure is extremely allergic to real flowers and I would hate to have her suffering through.

I don’t think it’s tacky. I did fake flowers for the bouquets and boutonnières and corsages. You can try places like michaels or hobby lobby

Fake flowers are great ! I highly suggest looking into something borrowed blooms ! They look SO real and have garlands, centerpieces and bouquets. I love flowers but I’m not enough of a flower person to spend thousands of dollars. This way you can have a bunch of flowers for affordable price ! They also send you a free toss bouquet !

I think that super cheap fake flowers, like the Dollar Tree ones, can look a little tacky, but otherwise I don't see an issue with them.

I plan on doing fake greenery for hanging decor. I love real floral so I’m doing real floral for everything else, but as long as you find good quality faux floral you can’t really tell. I actually think fake floral is better in many ways, because it won’t get all wilted throughout the day if its warm and you don’t have to make sure they keep getting sprayed with water. I chose fake greenery for my hanging decor specifically due to the wilting factor. It will be hanging up near lights and it will be in June, so I feel like a few hours into it and the greenery would start to sag a significant amount and look a little sleepy if it were real.

My whole wedding and reception were silk flowers. Everyone loved them.
It's just your personal opinion and choice.
    Congratulations!

I always prefer real flowers, but not at the expense of someones health. To keep your Aunt from having a reaction, I would go with fake.

I used fake everything for my wedding. It still looked amazing! I recommend budget bride for flowers ect if you have not found someone already or will be doing them yourself. I designed my bouquet and I absolutely loved it. Making them yourself is doable as well! I did my centerpieces and my bridesmaids “bouquet” (it was a decorated wreath)

Fake flowers and greenery have come a long way! So many of them look realistic now. How many times do you see a plant and are unable to tell if it’s real or not? Do whatever works for you and your wedding. It’ll be beautiful either way!

I went to a florist in SoCal for a quote, who's known to have good prices, and I was quoted $95 for a bridal bouquet, with roses and eucalyptus flowers, etc. Most are around $125+ - hence, why I decided to use fake flowers lol I went with Sola Wood flowers, their customer service is amazing too.

I guess i should have specified. What is a good price for fake flowers or sola? I've been looking at those as well. I am just having a problem finding the actual dye. Smiley sad

You can use any acrylic dye from a craft shop or wherever! Just mix it with a little water.

Have you ever seen the flowers in a craft store? I kind of want to try one and make sure I don't hate it. haha
