Fake Flower Experiences + Pictures

Megan, on February 23, 2021 at 9:59 AM Posted in Planning 1 7
Hi all! So I’m planning on doing mostly real flowers for my wedding (all centerpieces will be real, ceremony flowers will be the centerpieces put on arches, and bouquets will be real, we are choosing not to do any boutonnieres). All of these flowers will be done by a florist (that’s next on my to-do list- hire a florist! 😅) but to cut some costs elsewhere, I am planning on doing any additional flowers throughout the wedding. By this I mean flowers throughout the cocktail hour space, on the entry table, on our welcome sign, in the bathroom, etc. I, personally, LOVE to do all sorts of crafty things, so I’m not at all dreading this project, and am incredibly lucky that all of my bridesmaids have already offered to help out without me even asking (I didn’t want to burden them by asking them to participate in this!). Originally, I planned on getting real flowers to do this, but then realized that would be a lot of extra stress on me the week of the wedding. So has anyone used, and had success with, any fake flowers? I’ve heard great things about Ling’s Moments, but would be open to any company. Any pictures you could provide as well would be AMAZING! TIA!

Have you looked into Costco.com or a grocery store florist? They are cheaper than silks, whether Etsy/Sola/others

Make sure this is okay with the florist you hire. Some are pretty strict on being the exclusive floral provider so that there is no confusion later in photos which works were the work of the florist. Also, I suggest getting a quote from your florist if they were to do this additional work for you. You may find that you wouldn’t really save much by DIYing these extra few pieces.

I am using real and fake flowers. I am using decor from my venue which are fake flowers but my real flowers will be used for the ceremony space and they will be moved into the reception room, bridesmaid, my groomsmen and my bouquet. I agree with the other ladies to check with your florist about how it would work.

I agree with Rachel to check into whether your florist will allow this. Ours had a clause in the contract that stipulated no fake flowers. Also, it doesn't hurt to ask for quotes on florist packages from a bunch of people. Many florists have deals and packages if you spend a specific amount. Our flowers for the cocktail tables and the ones on our welcome sign ended up being free because we reached a certain amount for bouquets, centerpieces, chuppah (arch), and entry table.
