Fading scars tips??

Kristen, on April 30, 2019 at 9:45 PM Posted in Fitness and Health 0 10
So I have multiple scars from various incidences on my left wrist and hand (pictured - hard to see but I have a scar on my ring finger as well, which aren’t fully covered by my ring... I circled all of them since it was bad lighting for some). They range from half a year old to 5 years old. I’m trying to figure out a way to get these to fade before e-pics in June because my FSIL said it looks like I’ve been in a fight or two 😂

If you didn't point them out, I wouldn't have noticed them. However, if they show in the final pictures, your photographer should be able to "erase" them with editing. If you really want to try fading them, I've heard Mederma might work, but haven't tried it.

(PS I have a MASSIVE scar along my spine, which showed above the back neckline of my MOB dress; daughter's photographer made it completely disappear in most pictures. Although, honestly, I was actually glad he didn't remove it in a couple -- it's not pretty, but I'm proud of what it represents.) Good luck! Smiley heart

I agree with PP. I don't think it will be obvious in photos. I'm not sure what helps fade scars though.

I have scars all over my arms because I work in a kitchen. I’d like to have them photoshopped out, but if not oh well.

FH used to have grease burn scars from working in restaurant kitchens. He says Maderma seriously makes a huge difference. Or any scar medicine similar to it.

I used Mederma for acne scarring - and it really does work. PPs are right though - your photographer will erase them if necessary - and if you hadn't circled them, I wouldn't have seen them.

You can get scar fading creams like mederma ar walmart. They can help, but scars and how they look depend on how old they are and your genetics. So there is only so much you can to.
If you're worried about them in pictures, I doubt they will show up, and if they do a photographer can fix that. I honestly wouldn't worry about it too much. I don't, it's part of my past and I've moved beyond it.

You could see a dermatologist if over the counter fading creams haven’t worked. Wear sunscreen with a high spf *every single day* over your scars to prevent more pigmentation. I don’t think they’re very noticeable and agree they could be photoshopped easily. Good luck!

If you want something that works fast, see a dermatologist. I have eczema on my palm that has grown in size, cracked and bled and an issue on my back above the dress line. I was reminded that it's my skin on my wedding day. You don't mess with that....! So I made an appointment for next week. My wedding day is June 23rd.

I wouldn't have noticed them either. You have a good bit of time to check into options. You might try having the spots airbrushed. Once you find your photographer, see what kind of editing they can do. You could also talk to a dermatologist or esthetician. There are tons of OTC creams you can try too. Stage or tattoo covering makeup might also be an option.

    Best of luck!
