Face wash

Macy, on April 27, 2019 at 12:37 PM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 20
Hello! I’m looking to get a good face routine going to make sure all is well for the big day! However I have super sensitive skin. Can’t use scented body wash, free and clear detergent, no perfume. It’s rough. My face is oily but it breaks out easily. Everything’s pretty trial and error. Anybody else in the same situation that found a good face wash that they’d recommend?

I don’t have sensitive skin but my cousin had similar issues with face wash and her dermatologist told her just to use bar soap, as plain as you can find. You could also look on the internet and see if you have an esthetician in your area! They can help

I like using cetaphil facial cleanser. I use the gentle skin kind. It makes my face feel clean and smooth

Cetaphil! Use their face wash, then follow by their lotion for day or cream for night. This stuff is the dream and has worked well for me since my dermatologist recommended it. The best thing is most grocery stores carry it and you won’t spend an arm or a leg! I haven’t had great luck with the offbrands though so don’t go even cheaper. Not worth it! Witch hazel face toner should help with your oil as well! Also found at most groceries. Bert’s bees has a nice one that works well

Im sorry, I really really dont mean to be rude... but PLEASE not Cetaphil. My stepmom does skin care and Cetaphil contains loads, and I mean LOADS of really bad stuff. Plenty of allergens and such. Im glad if its worked well for you Pattie, but Id not at all recommend Cetaphil to someone with sensitive skin.
Macy, go for something that is completely natural. Google your way around! I am using products from a Finish company, and I don't think they sell world wide unfortunately.

Try using Cerave. This is what I am using right now and was recommended by my doctor when I was having issues on my skin.

I like the first aide line. Have you ever used a toner and a serum for oily skin?

Definitely look at Glossier's milky jelly cleaner!

It has been such a lifesaver for me. It doesn't foam like traditional face wash, it's very gentle, even when it gets in my eyes it doesn't hurt at all.

It's a little pricier, but the bottle has lasted me a while and my skin is in great shape!

I have been using Neutrogena Naturals cleanser+makeup remover for years! My skin does not like certain cleansers and I have no issues with this one. I highly recommend it!

Cereve hydrating face wash in the green and white pump bottle is the best and least irritating or drying face wash I have ever used, and I've used some that were 10x the cost.

Oh and this is counterintuitive, but I have breakout prone skin and I've found the best results from Cereve hydrating (or foaming, both great) in the AM and I wash with an oil cleanser in the evening. I use Clean It Zero. But it is lightly scented. You should easily be able to find something unscented.

I recently got into the whole Korean ten step routine! It seems daunting, but it actually is not that much more work than just washing you face. I also see more of a difference when I wash in the morning and night as well as if I use sheet masks!

Go onto Soko Glam’s website and research! You can toggle from sensitive skin and oily skin (you can do both). Then you look at the products and see what they target. Then you buy them and try them! They have returns so you can return anything too.

The most important thing I have learned is what has the best reviews and works for a lot of people does not mean it will work for you! So you are so correct in that it is trial and error! I have spent way too much to get products I like and then more to try new ones too. However, Soko Glam is a great starting point!!

I have combination skin. Very oily and cystic acne prone on my chin. I started using Kate Somerville products. So far love them. They are cruelty free also free from parabens and sulfates. Makes my skin very soft. Only been using for a few days but got great reviews via ulta. A tad pricey but worth it to me if it helps clear up my skin. Also I wash my face AM and at bed, trying to increase my water intake, and changing my pillow case more frequently. Plus wiping down my phone daily. Good luck

I use MyChelle, the sensitive line. You can get online I think or at health food stores.

I have sensitive skin and cetaphil has worked wonders for me as well! Highly recommend. Most other products I have tried (which is a lot) either left me breaking out or completely red and irritated.

I use Simple Brands facial cleanser because my skin is extremely sensitive and it has really gentle ingredients and then I finish off my routine with Albolene Makeup Remover! It's insane with removing even my most intense waterproof eyeliner and mascara and somehow it moisturizes too so my skin gets that perfect blend of cleanliness from the cleanser and then moisture from Albolene. Hopefully that helps!

YES. I use Mario Badescu products. Also if you know anyone that sells Amway, their Artistry line of face stuff is amazing. I used it forever but it was hard to get so I switched to Mario Badescu. Make sure you're using a face wash, toner, and a moisturizer because my face is also oily but it will get MORE oily throughout the day if I don't use a good moisturizer after washing my face. Took my years to figure all this out.
