Face shield or face mask

Monica, on April 14, 2021 at 1:44 PM Posted in Planning 0 34
What are you ladies planning on using? On a regular day I would use a face mask but with makeup getting messed up, Im considering a face shield.

Would you feel safe with wearing a face shield only? Or do you think guests will mind?

The plastic shield? They mess up your hair and need to be adjusted frequently. Both are safe. Just go with a regular fabric mask.

I choose neither. As our venue allowed us not to wear masked for our invites guests only.

Masks fog up my contacts, so I think a shield might fog up on the inside possibly? You might want to test out the shield first. If you don’t wear contacts or glasses. The mask will definitely mess up your make up. I’m personally not wearing anything, but unless you really want to wear one or the other as a personal choice prob go with the mask. you might also want to check out with your venue to see what their rules are

We're not wearing either unless things change and we have to wear masks.

Personally, I don't think the face shield does much since the entire bottom of it is open so any outside air can flow through there lol. Plus the top will def. mess your hair and makeup more than a regular facemask because you usually have to adjust those more than a regular face mask.

    Face mask is my vote.

Yes thats how I feel about face shields in general, on a regular day I wouldn’t use one while going out or shopping. But Im thinking maybe for the wedding possibly might consider it. My skin is so oily my face mask will get makeup all over it

We aren't wearing either. But if I had to chose, I would likely go with the shield. I've seen pageants recently have the girls wear clear shields and you could hardly tell they had anything on.

I wouldn't pay loads of money for my makeup to be done to have a mask cover it up, and then half of it rub off onto the cloth mask! LOL

Face shields don’t protect anyone, unless worn with a face mask.
I wore a mask most of my wedding day and the only thing it took off was the lipstick, which I expected to come off as I drink/eat anyways. My makeup artist did a great job at setting my face.
Are you planning on doing a makeup trial? If so, you could wear a mask afterwards and see how much makeup is being removed after a few hours, and if it’s a lot talk with your makeup artist about setting your face more

I am having a family friend do my makeup, she did a great job with my bridal shower. I am acne prone with very heavy oily skin. Unfortunately No amount of setting spray or powder keeps me completely matte. I might try using the brands she has and see how much transfers to the mask. And unfortunately if its a white mask it gets everywhere lol will be able to see makeup even from the front of the mask because It gets all over the nose area lol.

    I would NOT wear EITHER.

Honestly, if it was mandatory, I would do a backyard wedding or an elopement so i can make my own rules.

I'm in PA, which has been one of the more stricter states, and my venue is not requiring it unless you go inside the restaurant area, but there would be no reason for my guests to go there.

I would pick the mask though because the shield would just be annoying.

    Absolutely neither.

Thankfully, my family and my fiances family won't mind, they're rational people who probably won't wear anything either. Though if they have a real issue, I suppose they just won't come.

I dont think it’s mandatory for my venue, but I want to be at least a little responsible with the number of guests we are having. We already eloped so this is the only other wedding we will have.

I won't be wearing a face covering for my wedding, and would probably have looked for another venue or done a backyard elopement if it was a requirement. But if there was no way to get around it, I'd go with a mask.

I should clarify that I meant for reception only. Pp said the same exact thing as you. We have already eloped so this is the only other wedding we are having. We ate also having a sweat heart table. I would only wear mask/shield when im not at my table and eating or drinking.

I dont think they would care but the guest are wearing a face mask, if it is still permitted to wear them, but for us I'm not messing up my makeup and my wedding party will not but again its next year so I hope things are better. But will deal with it if and when
