Face Breakout

Alexis Hosley, on June 1, 2019 at 8:21 AM Posted in Fitness and Health 0 8
I've been really stressed lately & not drinking enough water. So I'll admit this is part my fault. BUT our engagement pics are in 4 days. Does anyone have a remedy to help clear up breakouts quickly?

I use my clay face mask like a spot treatment overnight and it helps clear my breakouts faster.

I wouldn't worry about it at all. The photographer will edit all of that out and soften any blemishes. You will look perfect!

Get your hands on benzoyl peroxide cream 5% or 10%. Dab it on the spot. Leave it on overnight. Guaranteed the spot will be gone overnight or in 2-3 days.

Worst case scenario is to ask the photographer to retouch some areas.

Ditto the benzoyl peroxide. NYX also sells a green concealer that is amazing at covering up acne for pictures.

Girl I feel you with the breakouts! I’ve had pretty great skin my whole life and of course the year I get married it decides to freak out on me majorly and I’m an esthetician’s so I would like to think I have a good skin care routine but sometimes you just can’t combat horomones lol. Benzoyl peroxide is great for treating acne quick. There’s a tube of benzoyl peroxide gel from the target brand up and up. Super cheap and effective. You put it on your problem spots after you’ve washed and toned your face, just a thin layer, wait for it to fully dry and then apply your moisturizer on top. Hope this helps!

    - Clay masks work well-- if you're worried about dehydrating your skin, apply it only over pimples. It'll dry them out without affecting the rest of your face.

    - Something cold. Put a face roller or smooth pebble in the fridge, and use it to gently massage problem areas. Surprisingly effective!

    - Benzoyl peroxide, as others have said. You really do not want to get this anywhere but directly over areas of acne otherwise it can just dry out your skin or exacerbate the condition. Also, it can bleach your hair, so be careful. I find 10% works for me, but 5% just makes my acne worse- but this will depend on the person!

    - Photo-specific makeup. Smashbox primers are a favourite!

And of course the obvious: tea tree, rosewater, witch hazel, sudocrem, and salicylic face wash all help clear things up, and be sure to moisturise Smiley smile

-Zinc! Starting supplementing with zinc. I recommend taking it at night, because it makes me nauseous (all vitamins do). But it will help with acne immediately.

-I use Ole Henrickson (sp?) Oil Control Toner, which has salicylic acid. It's the one in the green bottle. I swear by it! You can get it at sephora, its the green bottle.

    -change your pillow case

-STOP EATING SUGAR! Anytime i start having refined sugar, i start breaking out.

-Wash your face morning and night, use toner, use moisturizer, and don't touch your face. Try your hardest not to pick at any pimples.

Oooh yes the pillowcase thing... I cannot overstate how dramatic a change a clean pillowcase has on my acne!
