Eyelash Extensions or Fake Eyelashes?

Ashley , on March 12, 2019 at 1:56 PM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 17

Debating whether or not to try eyelash extensions - - I've have had them before but think they really look good in photos. I would definitely try the last extensions out a few months before the wedding to make sure I like them...But I'm wondering if it's even necessary since I'm only planning on having them for this one day & will probably have them removed shortly after the wedding. I am worried about fake eyelashes falling off during the whole wedding day (I would probably be doing little tiny fake eyelash fillers instead of the full set of fake lashes!)

Any advice on which is better & why? Thanks!!

I personally don't like either. I think eye lash extensions look very fake and well determining what kind of fake lashes they can look good but can also look terrible. If you have longer lashes but want the curl I would suggest lash lifts. It curls your natural lashes and it lasts as long as extensions, you can also get a lash tint to make them darker like you have mascara on. This is what I will be doing for my wedding. I've heard good reviews on it.

    Hope this helps.

I would generally say extensions are expensive if you’re planning to remove them right away. I’ve had them before and was considering them for my wedding so that they’re there for the honeymoon as well, but I haven’t decided yet.

False lashes for the day, whether full strips or individual clusters, might be a better bet for you. A good makeup artist can apply them properly so that they stay on for your whole event, but you could stash some spare lash glue in the bathroom just in case.

Lash lift is another good option but won’t add volume, as are some of the better lash serums. I finally broke down and tried the Rodan and Fields one recently bc a friend was selling their line and I have to admit, it really is working well for me, but mostly just for length.

I used fake lashes! I considered lash extensions but the expense wasn't worth it to me and I found some lashes I loved.

I bought waterproof lash glue (can be found anywhere lashes are sold, but the brand is slipping my mind right now), and idk how waterproof it was but I cried a few times at the wedding and my lashes never moved! Lashes are also cheap to buy a few pairs and try which you think look best on your eye shape! I loved the Ardell lashes, I wore demi-wispies! They only felt funny for about 10 minutes after putting them on but for the rest of the day I honestly forgot I had them. I did use a drugstore brand waterproof mascara to make sure the lashes blended with my natural ones.

SO glad I didn't have to worry about mascara or anything running and my lashes looked full and perfect!

I have done a couple trials on the lash extensions and I love them. My FH usually hates when I wear false eyelashes, but when I had the extensions on he didn’t even notice them. I think they look good in pictures. But, I would do a couple trials to make sure what length you like. I did the trials around other events or vacations. Also, I’m stocked to have mine on for the honeymoon.

Fake lashes are more likely to look worse imo. Your trial could go great and then the day of your wedding they could start coming off at the ends. It’s super obvious to me when people wear fake lashes. I’m getting lash extensions personally.

I would try them now if you can afford them. I love the look but can't handle them when they are on me, I'm constantly brushing them and way too focused on them.

If you only plan on wearing them for one day, don't blow the money on extensions lol. I would say if you want to keep them for a while, then hey, go for it since you know what you're getting into, you know?

I used strip lashes and my MUA was amazing - they didn't look fake or weird at all. If you have a pro doing your makeup, you shouldn't need to worry about anything falling off - they're pros for a reason. My mom and two bridesmaids had the individual lashes put on for the day as well, and they woke up the next morning and were excited to see that they were still on lol.

IF you are doing them yourself, just make sure to pack an extra tube of glue in your handbag Smiley winking But yeah, lashes are so worth it, if that's the look you're going for!

I’m doing eyelashe extensions because I believe they look more realistic. I also like that they look good for about 2 weeks or so! I also can’t stand fake eyelashes.

Fake lashes get a lot of bad press, but honestly they’re cost effective and the good ones can look natural if applied correctly and chosen to flow cohesively with your eye shape. Also, when they’re applied correctly with good lash glue, they will stay for a full day.

I think that's what I'm most worried about... I obsessively fuss with things when they are uncomfortable, and I could totally see eyelash extensions driving me nuts & accidentally pulling some out.

You won’t even feel them. Eyelash extensions when properly applied feel just like the real ones. Its a total game changer. It feels awesome to wake up in the morning and walk out the door with no makeup on and still look put together.

I wouldn't spend the money. It makes it hard with mascara and by the time the wedding rolls around, what if they don't look their best. If you are going to remove them soon after, spend $20 and get a really nice quality pair of lashes that you can reuse at a later date. I am also not a huge fan of extensions because they tend to look spidery imo

I like fake lashes better. I know a lot of women who get extensions and everyone of them has has an issue one time or another either an infection or one really red eye from irritation that’s not something I would want to worry about in my wedding day.
Hire a good makeup artist to put the lashes on for you and they will be fine.

I’m going to just go with faux lashes that my mua will put on for me but my mom is going to get extensions.

I did classic lash extensions for the first time 2 weeks before my wedding, and got a fill 3 days before hand so they looked fresh. This worked really well for me, and I felt like it looked pretty natural, like a step up from mascara but not ridiculous. It was nice to have them the week before the wedding with all the events, and during the honeymoon. I was super emotional and didn't have to worry about eye makeup whenever I cried. Probably won't get them again due to the cost, but for the wedding month it was perfect!
