Extra greenery to centerpieces or no?

Michelle, on May 5, 2020 at 8:50 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 23
So how does this look? Better with or without the eucalyptus leaves? These probably won’t be the vases I’m using but just having an idea of the flowers.

I think both arrangements look beautiful! I will say, the eucalyptus adds a luscious and fullness to them

I’d go with adding the eucalyptus. It allows for the colors to “pop”.

Eucalyptus leaves with this arrangement is my vote! Very romantic and add boldness to your flowers like PP said.

Are these flowers artificial? If so, where did you get them? They look real!

I'd say it's personal choice. Which do you like better?

I’d vote without. They are very pretty without it and the Eucalyptus makes it look more like a fake arrangement.

I think I want a different vase lol, we will see how it looks when I get the compote. I think I like the eucalyptus better but if I stick with the small vase I’ll make the stems shorter so they don’t stick out so much.

Loving the second one more with the eucalyptus. It gives it more volume and just seems more lively.

My suggestion would be to focus the eucalyptus on the bottom of the arrangement, you are covering the dark green leaves, which also accent the arrangement. They add color and dimension. If it were me, I'd clip some of the dark green leaves off of the stems.
Place the flowers in the vase....then go back in with the leaves and eucalyptus. It will give you more volume and texture for the arrangements and more material to work with.
You could actually hot glue(or cool glue gun) the leaves and eucalyptus into the arrangements. You can cut the eucalyptus at the joints to give you more pieces to work with as wellSmiley smile

Thanks. I’m not sure what type of vase I wanna use for sure, I’m waiting for the compote vase (7 inch diameter, this one was like 5) before I commit to cutting. I’m afraid I’ll cut too short and not be able to use it lol. Thanks for the tip.

You can buy green floral picks and floral tape, if you need to make anything taller. Picks have a wire, wrap around stem, then cover the wire with floral tape by stretching the tape out and twisting it tightSmiley smile then you can just place them where you want. Makes the arrangements fuller, without spending more. You can dab some hot glue on the end of the picks to secure in arrangements. Dollar tree has the tape, Amazon or Michael's has the picks . Good luck! Have funSmiley smile

Depending on your vase, they also have 6 inch picks. Normally , I start out with a tall flower or a piece of greenery in the middle, work flowers around that then go back with some taller greens on the outside of the flowers, then finish with shorter ones at the bottom, to give it dimension.

The shorter your vase, the fuller you can make it lookSmiley smile just depends on your vase choice.
