Extending train

Ivy, on April 24, 2024 at 7:47 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 4
So I really want to extend the train of my dress. The dress has everything I was looking for except the train is slightly smaller than I hoped. I was looking into getting the train extended by 1ft. But I don't know if it will make it look weird with the veil that I picked if the train ends up being the same size as my veil or slightly longer than the veil. Attached is the stock picture if the dress and a picture I'd the dress with the veil. Sorry I dont have any better pics with the veil and dress on. Extending train 1

I don’t think it’s a very easy process to make a longer train. I’d get a long sweeping veil to get the drama you want.

It’s easier for the seamstress to take off fabric than it is to add it. It will have a very obvious Frankenstein type look to it. If you want length, you can ask the seamstress to design an over skirt that is essentially a removable train or go for a dramatic long veil.

This company does customizations, so just order your gown with the train the length that want it at.

Did you already purchase your dress? If not, ask if the company can customize your dress with a longer train. This would likely be cheaper than having it added in later during alterations. If you already bought your dress and can't make changes to your order, check with a seamstress about whether they can add on to the train. I'm guessing it will be difficult and expensive to do, so another cheaper and easier option would be to get a long and dramatic veil to pair with your dress.
