Excellence Playa Mujeres vs Excellence Riviera Cancun?

I am getting married on June 5, 2021 and have not even looked into honeymoon destinations before now because I wasn't sure we would get to have a honeymoon right after the wedding due to covid. I am now looking into all-inclusive, adults only resorts in Mexico and have some questions that I hope you guys can help me with! I was originally set on Secrets Maroma Beach, but stumbled upon the Excellence resorts and am now leaning toward either Excellence Playa Mujeres or Excellence Riviera Cancun. I really want Playa Mujeres, but the only two rooms they have available for my dates are Junior Suite Spa or Pool view OR Junior Swim-Up Suite Spa or Pool View. I was really interested in an Excellence Club room, but none are available at this resort for the week of my honeymoon. Should I go with Riviera Cancun and get an Excellence Club room? Or is the Playa Mujeres resort without Excellence Club worth it? Thanks in advance!

I stayed at Excellence Playa Mujeres and we loved it. We got the two level room but did not utilize the rooftop as much so if and when we go back we would get a regular room and save the money. The staff is awesome and we were fine without the excellence club. Some people forgot COVID existed so we said we would go back when things are better. Any room is good as you will only be in there for a bit of time. Highly recommend taking time to see Chichen Itza.

I would contact EPM and see if they can help you with the Excellence Club, especially since it's your honeymoon. The Excellence Club only restaurants are delicious, so it's worth it for that alone. Also, the honeymoon package inckuded in Excellence Club is much nicer than the honeymoon perks for base rooms. I haven't stayed at either Mexico properties, but I did stay at El Carmen in Punta Cana for my honeymoon. My parents have been to Riviera Cancun and Beloved PM, which is another option you can look into. It's their boutique resort and all rooms are Excellence Club rooms. It's right next door to EPM, and you can get a free day pass to EPM as well. EPM is supposed to be the best out of all the Excellence brand resorts, but from my and my parents experience, all of them are wonderful. EPM is next on my list to try.

We stayed at Excellence Riviera Cancun for our honeymoon 5 years ago and LOVED it. We're actually thinking about going back this year for our anniversary. The pools are awesome, beach is great, food is great, staff is so friendly and the resort is huge. You will never run out of food or drink options and tons of activities to do on site. Definitely recommend
