I love to cruise. I wish I could have talked our daughter into that idea. Did you already have a venue picked out in Puerto Rico? I think on Tripadvisor or Cruise Critic there is a sub topic about cruise weddings.

From research. cruise weddings seem cheaper. also non sailing guest can come too. they would just have to get off ship at certain time.

I looked into a Carnival cruise wedding and it was fairly inexpensive. Unfortunately, our guest list was too large and it ended up not working out but I think it's a great idea

We seriously considered a cruise wedding. We live in Florida and we like to cruise. Plus they're typically cheaper and there's like nothing to plan. The deal breaker for my FH was the lack of a sit down meal and dancing/music for the reception. You can have a DJ and dancing and heavy hors d'oeuvres or a sit down meal after the ship leaves port with no entertainment. But not both. That may be different for a cruise at one of the destination ports but we didn't want to do that bc that would eliminate some of our VIPs from being able to attend. The other deal breaker for us was the policy about how many guests can come on the ship and leave before the cruise sets sail. We were looking at Carnival Cruise line and their policy was no more than 50 people could disembark after the wedding but before sailing. We were planning for about 100 people so for us that would mean we would have to be able to guarantee 50 people would sail with us and we were concerned we wouldn't get that many. I think it could be a wonderful option for smaller guest lists though where that wouldn't be a problem.

I'll be getting married in Vegas in less than one week. (Damn where did all the time go?) Planning has been a breeze because we just picked a package and rolled with it. But I'm not the type to be particular about colors or small details being exact and we're not DIYing anything. We also have a very small guest list (invited 32) and you have to assume a lot of people will decline (have 16 coming).
