Event Insurance for wedding??

Kendra, on April 6, 2017 at 9:45 PM Posted in Planning 0 5

My reception venue requires us to purchase event insurance policy. Has anyone had to do this? I've never heard of this, where do I get it? Suggestions please!

There have been several post on this. I am an insurance agent and I suggest to first check your current insurance company on your homeowners/renters you can get an endorsement for the wedding for liability for a small fee. For example, State Farm in Ohio is $55 for $1M coverage.

It is not always required by the venue, but it is ALWAYS a good idea! You can get it for fairly inexpensive. Try wedsafe.com

I agree with PP, I too am an insurance agent, and I would check with your current homeowners company. Depending on how much liability you already carry, you may just be able to provide an evidence of insurance to the venue to show that you already have liability coverage. Or sometimes you can just increase your liability coverage temporarily to cover the date!

My venue require it too. We're going to check with our Home Owner's Ins Co.

There was just a thread on this earlier today. Search for it, there's good information there.
