Event and Catering Insurance?!

A., on March 7, 2018 at 4:20 PM Posted in Planning 0 3

Hello all -

My venue requires us to purchase event insurance, "if not provided by the caterer" and states that the caterer can add my vendors to their insurance - i'm confused by this - am i better off going under my caterer's insurance or just buying my own for $200?! i also need a host liquor liability insurance

It shouldn't matter as long as the coverage is the same and enough for the venue. I think people typically use their caterer's. I am not sure about the liquor liability but I am sure your caterer/bar vendor will!

Has your caterer worked at your venue before? You could ask them what is usually done when they work there, and for the details of their insurance coverage.

My caterer told us he could cover up to 10million , the venue only requires 2 million.
He just wants me to get the details of the insurance so he can make sure the wording is right.
    I trust him.
