Even my mom is going to look hotter than me...

Most people where I grew up/live are skinny, leggy blonde with perfect implants, perfect noses, and long, cascading straight hair. I'm...none of those things. Most people where I grew up/live are skinny, leggy blonde with perfect implants, perfect noses, and long, cascading straight hair. I'm...none of those things. Needless to say, I've always had some major insecurity issues.

Anyhow I wanted my BMs to be happy so I had them pick their own dresses and they look STUNNING obviously. The pictures of me trying on my dress pale in comparison to the pics of them in theirs.

Now my mom sent me a text of a gorgeous dress she wants to wear for the wedding. It's basically my dress but in red not pink. My mom looks great in it obviously; she is 6 inches taller than me and 15 lbs less than me with perfect implants and a great face lift. So of course with her figure versus mine, I just look like a sad sack in comparison.

I honesty feel like I'm going to be the ugliest person at my own wedding :/ Has anyone else dealt with insecurity issues around the wedding? I feel like there's so much pressure to look a certain way.

Why did your mom get the same dress different color!

    Can you post your dress?

Do you feel if you changed your dress to a sparkling white dress you will stand out more?

Either way you are the focus that night !

You are the bride and you will be beautiful. No one can show you up and if they try that's wrong. I don't think blonde, big boobs and tall make up the definition of beautiful.

Chica, you gotta shut out that negative self-talk. That voice is a bully, and you deserve to treat yourself better than that. Nobody is going to outshine you on your wedding day. You're going to be beautiful and the star of the show.

I will say, however, that I also struggle with body image and self-doubts about my appearance. It's a difficult demon to struggle with. Just remember that you're not alone - we all struggle with this issue, and we all need to realize our own beauty.

This is actually the first time in my life where I have come anything close to self-acceptance. These same negative thoughts started to creep in after I tried on my dress, but I actually pushed them away for one of the first times that I'm aware of. I'm not letting any of this negative self-talk in because I've been wanting to get married for a good while now; why let insecurities take over my joy? Don't let it take over your joy! It's not worth it.

I agree - you're going to be beautiful and stand out no matter what.... but basically the same dress, different color? nope!

Kate, don't feel bad about your berry red cocktail dresses. I should have been more specific -- the color that bothers me is that unique fire engine red color (especially if it's sequined).

I agree with all of the PP, I too have my own set of insecurities, I've never been photogenic (filters are my best friend, including my avatar lol) so I have a lot of anxiety about being photographed and having all eyes on me- but I have not an ounce of doubt that you will look stunning on your day no matter how you perceive those around you- we are most often our harshest critics! Your FH is marrying YOU, just the way you are, and that's the best compliment a bride could ever recieve Smiley smile
