Does anyone know how/when to obtain EU covid certificate as a US citizen?

We are planning to travel to London and then throughout Europe for a couple weeks.
We are planning on leaving at the beginning of September so any advice would be appreciated.

This is a link to the French pass for Foreigners:

The French pass is accepted in EU countries.
The UK no longer being part of the EU, I'm not sure if they will have the same pass or requirements. Also, because of the Delta variant, there have been limitations on travel between the EU and the UK.

I’m also interested - planning to go to Italy in October - it says you need a green pass but I asked my fiancé to look into it so don’t know yet! All I know is you have to be vaccinated

You can apply for it in any EU country, so I would just do my research and choose the one with the least bureaucratic approach, but it probably also makes sense to choose the one through which you will enter the EU. Keep in mind that the UK is no longer part of the EU, so there are travel restrictions between the islands and the continent (no more free movement). Also, not all vaccines are authorised in the EU, make sure yours is. If you are American, then try the foreign office, they used to have a dedicated website.

Hi ! I agree with all above, as I live in France. However, in each country you have to verify what are their conditions at the moment. For ex. I got vaccinated in Poland, which means I would have my Sanitary Pass activated after 2 weeks. But in France it's 4 weeks after the Johnson vaccin... So in here my QR code didn't work, whike it was OK in other countries...

The Pass in France means that you don't have to be vaccinated ! You can have the vaccine OR a negatif test !

Hi ! I don't know for Italy but I don't think any UE country imposes the vaccine - there would be a revolution on the streets... well, it already is for the Pass... So I don;t think that it's obligatory for US citizens to be vaccinated if it's not for the locals...

Green pass means a negative test OR a certificate that you were already sick OR a negative test !
