Etsy Wedding Dresses?

Emily, on June 15, 2017 at 8:01 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 5

Hi y'all! This is my first post and I've got some questions about Etsy wedding dress retailers. Has anybody had any experiences with either RenzRags or LaceBridal on Etsy? I don't have a very big budget ($300 tops for my dress), and I found a dress that really resembles Amsale's Coco dress for $138 from RenzRags, but I have some cute backups in the LaceBridal shop.

I'm just curious if anyone has any good or bad experiences with them? I've seen a few other forums complaining about the quality of the dresses, but there was one lady who was complaining about a bridesmaid's dress that was cheap quality or something. When she posted a picture of said dress, it looked completely normal to me?

Anyways, if you could tell me your opinions on these shops or even recommend other shops to me, that would be great!

I don't have experience with wedding dresses on etsy, but all of my bridesmaid dresses have came in and look amazing! They came from China or somewhere overseas.

I recommend Amazon to buy a dress if you're set on buying online. I bought a dress in store and it's actually going to cost more to alter it than ordering one I love on amazon! & it's made custom sized for ME with my measurements. Less than $180..

The place I'm looking at a dress from on amazon is Ubridal. I like amazon because you have REAL reviews and you have pictures of people in the dresses they received. Theres actually some really pretty dresses on there Smiley smile I seriously regret buying the one I did in store & not knowing how much alterations would be Smiley sad

Ubridal can have a dress made in time too Smiley smile My day is 1 day after yours and they said it will be in in about 11-15 days

Look at the seller's reviews. Send the seller a message. Ask to see photos of their materials up close. Ask them to take a picture of the materials next to a paper with your name and date on it, or ask them to show you something similar they're making right now with a paper with your name and date on it. I say this to make sure they're not stealing photos from somewhere else and then sending you an inferior product. Anyone can grab photos off the web and say "oh yeah, I made that dress!"

ETA: OUCH you are dangerously close to your wedding date. Can an etsy seller even make a dress on this short of a notice? I would go to David's Bridal or BHLDN and get a dress in hand right away.

Yeah, I know, my fiance is military and that month is about the only chance we will have for the next year or so, and it's financially easier for us to do it now. Apparently, this site's turn around is about two months or so, and we can push the date back a few weeks if necessary.

Anyways, I've been trying to do reverse image searches on their photos and they all seem to originate from their page, which is a good sign, but I have seen a handful of disheartening reviews. One lady even said hers smelled like cat pee?

Overall, the shop seems to have good reviews, it's just on weddingwire and facebook that I've seen issues, so I wanted to get some advice from people who have actually interacted with the shop.

And you're 100% right, I'll try and stop by David's some time next week! Smiley smile

I can't stop talking about my experience with LaceBridal on Etsy. I was suppper hesitant to shop there especially since it is from China. The reviews are amazing but you never really know, so I message several girls on there and asked for pictures. So I went for and my dress came in a month and fits PERFECT except for the length. I hope you find the perfect dress!

    Thanks for posting, @OP!

@MexicoinMarch, I have been looking at LaceBridal dresses for a while. I'm SO glad to hear that you had a positive experience. Did you get your dress custom made or did you order one of the preset styles?
