Etsy rings?

Sarah, on February 27, 2018 at 6:28 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 14

Hello lovely people!

I posted a few days ago about my honeymoon moving up to be much sooner than anticipated. Obviously this is less than ideal but it is the only real way to make it happen. This obviously puts a strain on finances. The band that I originally wanted was $1100 (considering my engagement ring only cost $250, I didn't feel too bad) but I don't think that that is in the realm of possibility so the new plan is to get a less expensive ring and at a later date get the ring I am in love with.

SO my question is how do you guys feel about Etsy rings? Or is there another place to get a ring that wont turn my finger green? TIA!

I got my engagement ring from an etsy shop. I'm also ordering my wedding band from the same shop (Rosado's Box). My FH is also getting his getting his band from an etsy shop. As long as it's within your price and time line I say go for it. You can always contact the seller to ask questions.

You can get rings of any quality on etsy, including some really fine jewelry. Just shop around and read reviews carefully. I have a white gold and star ruby ring from etsy that I adore and wear daily.

There are Etsy sellers will decent quality. Search for 10k white gold as a much more affordable option than 14kw or 18kw. You can probably get an option like that for under $200. Just stay away from fashion rings- metals like sterling silver rings will tarnish and turn your finger green.

Also, I found my "gym/travel" ring on Amazon for like $15. It's a women's titanium eternity band with channel set CZs. It honestly looks real enough. They have options that are prong set if you prefer that style instead. The titanium is also light weight & won't turn colors & is pretty scratch resistant. It might be a good alternative metal option for you until you can afford your nicer wedding band (then you can keep it for traveling or what have you)

A sterling silver ring should not turn your finger green. I wear a silver ring that I've had for years pretty much every day and it doesn't tarnish much if you're actually wearing it. I'm also planning to have a silver wedding band.

We are "building" my engagement ring and we're getting the setting on Etsy. I'm not even a little worried. Now, right after we get the setting we're bringing it to a trusted local jeweler to have the gemstone set so we'll hear immediately if it's a dud, but I'd still feel good about them. They are a real jeweler with a brick and mortar store who also sell some on Etsy.

Check out artmans jewelry on Etsy. Got my FH wedding band from them and it's incredible! You'll probably see my glowing review on their Etsy page honestly lol

Etsy is great as long as you check the reviews on the particular shop

blue Nile is also good for more price conscious options
I am looking at getting the plain platinum classic wedding band for approximately 200$ through them

Both my engagement ring and wedding band are sterling silver. The band was $150 at Zales. I haven’t had a green finger yet.

We looked at a bunch on etsy but ended up getting ours from Amazon. Either way, read reviews carefully. I've personally had some issues with returns/exchanges with etsy sellers and gotten no real help from etsy so that was one reason we decided to buy from Amazon and just stay away from 3rd party sellers on the site.

My fiancé bought my engagement ring on Etsy! I agree with everyone, read reviews before you buy. If they have solid reviews then I say go for it! I couldn’t find a ring I loved at any big box stores since I wanted something other than a diamond and Etsy was a great alternative, plus it was insanely cheaper without sacrificing quality. Mine is from NidaRings, I would highly recommend checking out her shop!!

I actually can’t have sterling silver, as I’m allergic to nickel and there is a high ratio in sterling silver.
