Estimating cost for alcohol (BYO)

Rosered, on September 23, 2017 at 1:03 PM Posted in Planning 3 9

I've looked at some venues and want to finalize my budget before booking one of them. The once cost I am having trouble estimating is alcohol. The alcohol is BYO and I'm not sure how many drinks per person to estimate. Any help? We are still debating full bar vs wine and beer with signature cocktail.

Keep in mind your crowd, we're BYOB but heavy tequila and vodka drinkers, so we stocked up on those, and like 1 bottle of rum, and wiskey (we couldn't think of anyone who drank it, but just in case Smiley smile To give a reference we are having 117 adults, all but 10 are pretty heavy drinkers and we've spent about $2200 on all alcohol for our welcome party and the wedding. Good luck!!

We did a modified open bar with tequila, rum, triple sec, whiskey, 1 red wine, 1 white white, 1 sparkling, and two beers. For 68 people (we returned unused) it was $1000

A general idea is about $5 per person per hour of bar service. We wanted a few things upgraded so spending about 3000 for the open bar. Our vendor offers buy back which is amazing! Anything unopened we get our money back.
