I have a lace EOA dress too! Mine is currently with my seamstress, but I don't know exactly how much it'll cost yet. Unfortunately, I don't think I'll have a good representative number to give you since my seamstress is a family friend who doesn't charge nearly what others do in my area. I can say, though, that typically alterations that involve removing lace appliques to hem won't be super cheap. My dress was actually ordered to my exact height at the bridal shop, so I didn't need a hem on mine, just a bustle, taking out the sides a bit, and a strap adjustment. On the plus side, though, my dress did have a good amount of seam allowance, so if you do need or want to take your dress out a bit, I think EOA dresses tend to have a little wiggle room for that!

Thank you! Unfortunately,I did't realize the option of ordering my dress to fit my height. I wish they would have presented that option to me. I've read that removing lace appliques can be quite pricey so that's why I'm a bit nervous. My dress will require hemming (with the lace applique component), taking it at the hips/cups and a bustle. I'm guessing it's going to be around $700 but I'm hoping I can get it for $500 but not sure if I'm crazy for thinking that.

I think it would all depend on your seamstress and what they charge, hopefully it'll be on the lower end. Good luck!

My dress isn’t EOA, but does have a lot of lace and I’m also 5 feet. My dress was ordered “5 inches shorter,” it was my boutique recommended for fit and alterations. I had my first fitting 2 weeks ago and had the same work needed - hem, cups, bustle, taking in and I was quoted $500. Sorry it’s not EOA, but hope it’s somewhat helpful!

Awesome! Thank you that's very helpful! I'm hoping to not spend more than $500 and it's super awesome to know you got basically the same thing done! 😊

My dress is a EOA dress with a lot of lace detail and lattice work. I took it in for alterations on Saturday and was quoted $560 for a hem, bustle and taking in on the bust. Wasn’t expecting that at all but I was quoted $700+ from somewhere else.

My dress is EOA and I paid extra for the bottom lace applique to come already off of the dress. The designer never put it on when it was being made to make my seamstress's job easier. I don't need too much done to the dress but will be getting a bustle, a small amount of work done to the hem, cups removed, and it taken in at the hips and top and I was quoted about $800. My seamstress is out of this world amazing, she has clients fly in from the west coast to the east coast just for alterations so the price is definitely worth it to me!

I have a lace EOA dress! I had my first fitting and she has to take it in several inches (I lost a decent amount of weight), shape the boob area, take all the lace off the bottom so she can hem it and then put it back on, and tighten the illusion neckline. I attached a pic of my dress. My seamstress is charging $350 which I was very pleasantly surprised with because she’s the best one in my area apparently!

Hi Btbride! Do you remember the style # of your EOA dress? I may need my D2805 taken out a bit but won’t see my seamstress til 09.01 for my 10.01 wedding.
