It would be nice. Some view escorting the moms down the aisle as a sign of respect/honor.

Hi Kelsey! That's up to you!

Traditionally the grandparents of the bride and groom, both moms, and the father of the groom are all a part of the processional (before the wedding party). The order is: grandparents (escorted by ushers if necessary), followed by the parents of the groom, followed by the mother of the bride (escorted by an usher).

If you don't have ushers to escort your mom, you can have a groomsman help out or ask a male relative or family friend! I had my brother escort my mom.

ETA: I'd chat with your mom about it! This is something that my mom definitely cared about as a moment of honor!

Both of my parents are walking me down the aisle and FHs parents are walking down together. @wwlynnie I believe this is the traditional catholic/Christian processional? Agree with PP, ask your moms what they prefer!

Yes. My dad will escort my mom and then walk back to get me.

DH's teenaged cousins escorted his (and their) grandmas, DH escorted his mom in and my oldest nephew (her oldest grandson) escorted my mom in. I feel like it's an honor position, plus all the women asked for an escort.

We are a bit older so my mom is as well and does not get around that well. I would prefer if she was just seated before the processional. Is that wrong?

Either yes or have her seated before the processional if she'd feel awkward.

My dad will not be walking me down the aisle, so our dads will escort our mothers.

@Lisa - if that's what your mom wants to do then absolutely do that! You want to be considerate to their mobility Smiley smile

My Mom and Aunt wanted escorts so we are having our two gm's walk them and just go stand at the front. FH will be walking with his Mom. My Dad will be escorting both my Aunt and Mom back up the aisle after the ceremony.

If it is a cultural thing then yes, but if not then I would just stick to what is most time efficient and have a quick 30 minute ceremony. The reception is where people really have fun
