Escort' s for bridesmaids

Brandi, on August 18, 2017 at 5:09 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 14

Does every bridesmaid have to have an escort or can she walk alone? I have some that are going to have escorts and a couple that don't have an escort. Should I find and escort for them, thus adding to my wedding party or not?

I would opt to have the last two walk together, or have a groomsmen walk with 2 girls. Or just have all of them walk alone. It's up to you, it doesn't really matter that much.

What do you mean by escort? Their dates/SOs? The GM they're paired with for the recessional?

Didn't even think of that. I have four bridesmaids and so far he only had a confirmed two groomsmen.

You could have each groomsmen walk with 2 girls each. I'm having mine walk alone and the groomsmen will enter the ceremony with FH and the officiant from the side.

Mine walked alone and then paired up with GM's at the end for the recessional. We didn't make them so grand entrance or anything. You can do whatever you want.

Usually dates of WP members just sit and watch the ceremony and aren't involved in the processional/recessional. Dates are also seated for dinner before the WP is introduced into the reception, big you're choosing to do a big introduction.

I've been in a wedding where there was an uneven number of BMs and GM. Some GM just walked with two BMs and it was no big deal.

Thanks. I guess I just want it to be perfect. It will also be our 10 year anniversary that day.

@Brandi-how fancy your wedding is isn't determined by the amount of people in your BP.

If you only knew my family. Lol! I have four BMs and they are still saying that isn't enough. I just want a small southern Halloween wedding.
