Escort cards for plus ones

Karen, on October 27, 2018 at 8:32 AM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 13
Two weeks away and still waiting on 14 RSVPs. My fiancé and I have chosen to bite the bullet and pay for these guests. A few of them were given a plus one. What do I put in their escort card?

If you know of the name, I would put it down. If not, and you know they are bringing a plus one, I would put Mr. so and so and guest, or Miss so and so and guest. Whoever you wrote the invite to, should have their name on the escort card. This is what we did for our escort cards.

I wouldn’t pay for the 14 people. I’d reach out ind last time and say “I still haven’t received your RSVP. If I don’t hear from you by tomorrow, we’ll be marking you down as a no” For me 14 maybes would have cost me about $1500 so that would have been a no for us.

Right so put Mr. so and so (whoever the friend is) and guest. For example, Mr. Smith and guest.

We’ve reached out through email, text and Facebook. I feel bad because it’s his friends. But you’re right, it’s a lot of money.

Why in the world would you pay for 14 people? If they haven't RSVP'd then they wouldn't be invited.

He wants to. He hasn’t asked for much. But writing it out does make it a lot more ridiculous. Lol. I think this will be a chat we have to have today.

If you reached out to them and they still haven't responded, I would say they aren't interested in coming. I wouldn't pay for them!

Yeah, you need to talk to your FH about that today! That's just a waste of money!

I 100% would not pay for those people that's a lot of money you could potentially lose. I would reach out to them one last time and say "If I don't hear from you by tonight I will mark you down as no and you will be missed."

As for plus ones, I knew most of my guests plus ones but the ones I didn't I just asked them. I thought it was a bit more personal. It's always nice as a guest at a wedding to have your name written and not just "and guest"

I would have our FH reach out these people to see if they are coming and get the actual name of their guest (if applicable). Let them know if you don't hear in 24-48 hours you will mark them down as a no. For me, it wouldn't so much be the wasted money if they don't show up.... I would be worried about a totally weird seating chart/tables if these people don't end up showing up. Like you could have a few partially empty tables if those 14 people don't show up (which is unpleasant for the ones that do come).
