Entrance to a non-traditional song?

Caroline, on April 27, 2013 at 9:38 PM Posted in Planning 0 20

I really want to enter to Johnny Cash “Rose of my Heart”. My Fiancee likes the song a lot, but thinks that his more traditional extended family would get offended...

Any thoughts?

It's your day. Walk to what you an FH like. You shouldn't be worried about people getting offended. Especially "extended" family. I'm walking to Fat Bottomed Girls and I don't give a flying f@%& what anyone else thinks.

I'm also using a non-traditional song, a thousand years by christina p. My mom is pretty traditional, but once she heard the song, she was all for it. Don't worry about people getting offended either, like Tee said, it's all about you two. Besides, it's just a song, that will be the least of their worries. They'll probably be too busy watching you go down the isle anyway Smiley winking

I'm using "The Rose" by Bette Midler. My dad is singing me down the aisle as my older brother walks me down.

Go for it. My mom wanted traditional all the way. I said it was my wedding. I'm walking in to "A thousand years" by Christina Perri WITH vocals because that's why I like the song. The lyrics are perfect.

My daughter walked down the aisle to Michael Jackson's "I Just Can't Stop Loving You", performed by three of my friends who are professional musicians (one of whom worked with Michael)

I actually did a wedding that used "Rose of My Heart" for the first dance. The neat thing about it is... we got a friend of mine to record the audio... and the groom recorded the song for he and his bride to dance.

Choose what you like for your wedding, by doing this you put your own personality into the evening.

My daughter used orchestral versions of video game songs as the prelude, processional and recessional music. The unique choices she made for her wedding and reception helped to create a memorable wedding.

If my FH had his way, I would be coming down the aisle to WALK by PANTERA.

I think your choice is perfectly acceptable.

Kt2, I love you, lol! I had a groom walk in to the Hallelujah Chorus (which was a riot), and I've had couples come in to the themes from Star Wars and Pirates of the Caribbean.

Do what you want. Train's "Marry Me" is quickly becoming traditional, lol
