entire procession to one song?

Finally mrs.jkr, on January 21, 2014 at 1:09 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 17

I'm gtting married in the Catholic chruch, which encourages focusing on the union and God (example doesn't allow modern music that's not Christian or the bridal march)... would it be odd to only use one procession song for everyone (six in bridal party total grmm and brmm) I was thinking canon in D/gathered in the love of Christ.

I'm not Catholic but I too am getting married in a church. I am using Canon in D as the processional and bridal entrance so I say go for it.

I'm not getting married in a church, but we're planning on using only one song for the whole processional. We'll have to see if it's feasible (if it takes longer than 4 minutes to get everyone down the aisle), but we're trying to keep the processional really short, and we don't want to interrupt the flow of the music.

We're not getting married in a church either, but we are using one song for the whole shebang.

I was able to get everyone out in one song, with time to spare. The GM and BM came out as couples and our aisle was fairly short. Two songs would have been way too long.

You can always loop the song and play it as many times as needed.

We're not getting married in a church, but I'm wondering the same thing. I have a small bridal party, and I don't want to make it two songs. One should be enough. It's just me and a MoH, and FH has 3 GMs.

I've seriously considered this because the song that I like a lot is long enough (about 4 mins) our aisle is really short. The song is perfect for me to come in at the end. I say go for it!

    We had a Catholic wedding.

Our procession was 3 songs - Mother, Bridesmaid, Bride

You could do all one though. Our church left that up to us. As long as the music fit their criteria, the finer points they didn't care about.

I thought i was the only one! Lol! I just want them to hurry up and get to me! Lol! I figured since its a short ceremony, they could all walk to the same song. The song of choice is Johnny Gill-You for Me and my song is John Legend-All of Me...

We have 3 BM and GM, and are walking out to a live rendition of All of Me, so if it needs to be longer he can just add some guitar and re-sing the chorus.

I been scratching my head on this one. I want to use one but I'm scared we won't cut it with a bridal party of 7 plus my entrance.

I'm only using one. It's only 2 1/2 minutes but I will make it work. I only have 2 bridesmaids and a flower girl and FH has 3 groomsmen. We'll get down that aisle in time, I'll be sure of it!

We have a string quartet, so they will extend the one song if necessary. We have a big bridal party, but I didn't want to do two songs..

I'm having a Catholic wedding as well. I'm using Ave Maria for when I walk down the aisle because that's what played when my mum walked down the aisle. I would like to use Canon in D for the procession of the bridal party, but I'm not fixed yet.

We did the instrumental version of a song for the bridesmaids and then the lyrics version of the same song for me... might be an option?
