    Hi Genesis!

Are you interested in having performers at your wedding? I would think this would happen during dinner. I'm not really sure as I've only been to a few weddings and none have had performers.

I've only heard of non-musician performers being during cocktails or dinner

Ohh performers sound fun, what kind of performers were you thinking? I have been to one wedding with performers and it was during dinner, which was plated and they asked everyone to keep their seats until the performance was over.

Yea I kind of wanted to have a singer but then someone asked if I’m having dancers because I used to be a dancer myself and thought that’s not a bad idea but I can’t figure where they would come in lol

Awh that would be beautiful 😍 Yeah I think that would be done during dinner. Are you having a plated dinner or buffet style dinner?

Well then you should open the buffet and let people get there food first and then have an announcement made asking everyone to keep their seats for the duration of the performance. You don't want people missing the show if they are in line getting food. And you don't want to have the performance before opening the buffet making people wait to eat. But that's just me!

We are having a live band, playing the last hour or so of the formal reception. It’s a heavy metal band so we wanted it to be after the elderly and such leave lol.

    Tiffany, that is awesome.

My daughter's DJ will be playing classical renditions of bands like Three Days Grace and Seether during dinner and then mixing Rob Zombie and others into the dance time with beats added.

Genesis, I think it would be beautiful if during the cocktail hour if you had a few ballerinas twirl around! And if they were fellow dancers from when you danced all the better

Hi! Nah, I've never seen performers, with the exception of choreographed first dances (my sister and her husband are professional dance teachers, so of course their first dance was insane). FH is an opera tenor, so we thought about asking some friends to perform... but idk. We're having a friend officiate, who is an opera bass, so we joked about FH and our officiant doing an opera duet Smiley sexy but I think we'll just keep it simple and not do that. But who knows, we still have to plan some ceremony details, and during the reception they may get drunk and just do it anyway haha

We just had a DJ. I did surprise my husband with his cousin singing our song. She's an amazing (grammy nominated!) jazz singer.

But we didn't do anything else.

My sister had a singing waiter at her wedding breakfast. He was brilliant and really interacted with her guests, even my nan who's quite shy was up singing and dancing with him. We absolutely loved it and it was an amazing surprise as we had no idea that the waiter was going to burst into song. I have booked him to do an hour set for us in the evening and sing our first song for us.

At our local reception, we had a background music during cocktail hour, a live band during dinner (40s-50s swing kind of music), a Frank Sinatra impersonator for an hour after dinner (guests started dancing), and the live band for the rest of the night (more dancing).

A ballerina performance is...interesting. Maybe during cocktail hour or dinner?
